Poppy Reef is a beautiful beaded necklace on an ivory fiber base. The glass beads include a scallop, a sea star and a large conch shell made from an "odd lot" of glass called poppy. Sometimes when new glass colors are created, they are sold as odd lots and this was a beauty. Unfortunately, it has never been the same. Although still a beautiful color, it has lightened up and is not as rich, so this is by far, a one of a kind piece!

The Las Vegas Glass Expo hosts a "Gallery of Excellence" each year where artists submit their work for view and judging. This year, my Poppy Reef necklace was awarded with the People's Choice award. Very exciting!
