So fish may not be a big stretch fo me, but this guy is definitely different form the fish I usually make. Aside from the size of it, the body design was fun and the fins are really, really cool! Must have that tool!!

Sharon showed us how to make realistic eyes. The horny troll on the left is what I made in class. But first day on the torch at home, I made the cat. I love these eyes for big kitties!
Afternoon SnacksA different demo ~ Click on pic for more info.

We had a snack break in the afternoon as Sharon demoed roasting a marshmallow on a minor! There is a technique used to keep the marshmallow on the tip of the mandrel while turning to evenly heat and plump it just right!

Beatle Beads!Beatles Bead Toss ~ Click on pic for more info.

This was SO-MUCH-FUN! Sharon organized a bead toss that started with each person creating a base bead, then passing it to the left, grabbing one from the right at the end of each song, You then had to add to the bead you received until you got your original bead back! I can't even tell you how much fun this was! YOu just need to take her calss and experience this yoru self!

We had two rounds of the bead toss and we each got two beads to take home. This was the base bead I had made. By the time it got back to me, it had, what I thought, eyes on the bottom, so I added a smile only to find out the "eyes' were meant to be FEET! each person sees the bead differently, which once again makes you really use your imagination! Every bead was great!
Greta, the gravity difying Goddess! My Zero Gravity Goddess ~ Click on pic for more info.

At the end of our first day, Sharon showed us her "zero gravity" goddess. She sparked up the demo (not that it needed sparks) with a few colorful jokes. But, back to the lady...this gal is beyond perky! I was the lucky recipient of Sharon's goddess bead at the end of the class, but so far, she is headless :)
This is my goddess complete with head and blue manicure!

After our morning warm up bead, (the goddess of all thing!) Sharon worked on animals for a while. She showed us dogs, cats, pigs and cows. One detail with Sharons work is she works with separate components that really make these critters look more real.
Leopard or Dog?My Leopard-doggie bead(s) ~ Click on pic for more info.

At first I thought I would make a dog, but when I made the body, it looked more like a leopard. So then I made what I thought would be a leopard head. But now I think it looks like a dog! What-ever, I like it!

This is my dog head that was supposed to get the body that turned into a leopard! I would hope you can tell one is a cow. The other two, well, don't you recognize a 3-eyed googly poop and a horned roumble (?) splat when you see one???
Pushing the imagination...Toys for inspiration! ~ Click on pic for more info.

Sharon really knows how to get one to dig deep into their imagination. We all got new nicknames and based on that and a large collection of little plastic toys, we were each given an assignment, which also determined if we would graduate!
My new nickname was "Dinky Banana Cootie" (who knew) and my assignment was a creature consisting of the big mouth of the green monster, the duck feet and a banana!

Well, I had my work cut out. I decided to make a fish (what a surprise) with a big toothed mouth design (I had never done THAT before). Then I added duck feet and of course, the "fish" is eating a banana. I am very pleased with this bead and how Sharon got my to really got the creative juices to stir!

One of these days, I am going to add one of Sharon's kitty in the toilet to my bead collection. I believe she calls these "URin Trouble". She's funny :)
