In one way or another, I have been an artist all my life. I've played with watercolors, photography, clay, jewelry-making, faux finishing furniture and applying shells to frames, mirrors, clay pots and anything else shells and glue can stick to! I am currently working as a free-lance make-up artist for television in Los Angeles, California, which is another exciting and fun form of art.

I have played with beaded jewelry for years have always been attracted to glass beads. Thanks to too much time on the internet, I became more interested in exactly how glass beads were made, so I did some research. I found a glass studio in San Diego and signed up for a workshop immediately. I have been even more obsessed with glass ever since!

I have had the opportunity to take classes from many incredibly talented artists, like Deb Crowley, Sharon Peters, Leah Fairbanks, Andrea Guarino, Jen Geldard and most recently, the Italian Master, Vittorio Constantini. I am proud to have had some of my work published in Bead Unique, Step-by-Step Beads, The Flow and the 2006 Bead Review and the 2008 Art Glass calendar. (Food Chain was "miss April")

My husband, Roger and I both enjoy scuba diving and underwater photography. He is really the master when it comes to the underwater photos! Please check out our photography on our website: Roger and Judy Carlson Photography

Many of my experiences and photos from diving are my inspiration for my glass art. I believe this shows quite a bit with my critters.
